Future of consulting

In doing market research at the library on the consulting industry, I came across the journal Consulting to Management, a quarterly journal focused on the kind of company I am creating. Archives only available to subscribers - or at your library.

There was an interesting article by Milan Kubr in the December 2002 issue, Coping with the future. Kubr is the author/editor of Management Consulting: A Guide to the Profession. In this article, he talks about all the changes that are affecting management consulting, particularly as the trend of knowledge being an object of business grows, consultants need to improve their skills to keep ahead of the market.

The other thing I appreciated was his statement, "Consultants are inventors and creators of their own markets and their future." For this to really work, I need to continue working, reading, thinking, observing and creating my own reality.

This will work.
