The Kent State University program on Information Architecture and Knowledge Management has announced a new professorship, sponsored by Goodyear.
Starting today, I am sitting in the STAR Series seat at the Association of Knowledge Work. Topic: KM in Academia.
I am compiling a list of academic programs that have knowledge management courses or programs.
A friend is moving to Los Angeles and is considering going back to school for a masters-level degree related to knowledge management. Can you provide any suggestions as to which schools have KM-like programs.
KM Chicago hosted a panel discussion of area academics who have knowledge management components to their programs. All three programs acknowledge the wide breadth of "what is KM" and bring in perspectives from many disciplines, even though their academic backgrounds are different.
Mattias Melcher at x28's blog points to an academic piece by L. Thoms & M. Thelwall, "Academic home pages: Reconstruction of the self" at First Monday. The main finding of the research seemed far too obvious for me. I don't think academic websites are supposed to be terribly interesting either.
